about Julian pruggmayer

Julian Pruggmayer was fulfilling a childhood ambition by serving in the Police, but a severe injury, while he was still in his 20s, forced him into a change of career…

Joining Abbey Life in 1983, Julian soon realised there were very few people in the financial services industry at the time who were both technically aware and able to deal with complex matters concerning higher-net-worth individuals, though many people had tried.

He felt the consumer deserved better, so he devoted himself to constant studying to improve his knowledge and expertise. This, coupled with many years’ experience under his belt, has put Julian in a position where he is one of the most technically qualified and competent advisers dealing with wealthy individuals. In April 1993, Julian established Financial Risk Management (FRM) to deal with and offer a highly personalised service to high-net-worth clients – people he describes as ‘those who appreciate service and accept only one, golden, standard’.

According to Julian: ‘We first offer prospective clients a no-fee, no-obligation meeting at their home or office, whatever is most convenient for them. It is still true that “people buy people” and so FRM is more than happy to let people see just who we are before they make a commitment.

‘Often we uncover something the client has been concerned about for many years. This could be bad previous advice, or poor products pushed onto them by companies in the past. Where this happens, we are happy to pursue a complaint for them on a no-win, no fee basis.’

Perhaps this is the police officer in him coming to the fore, but Julian strongly believes in financial justice for his clients and strives to ensure that customers are truly treated fairly. He adds: ‘Yes, I’m an IFA, and yes, I’ve been in the business since Adam was a lad, but what makes me different is I am one of the most knowledgeable, persistent and tenacious advisers many financial companies have ever come across. My clients value the fact I will take a stand to defend their rights as a consumer.’

about frm

Financial Risk Management (FRM) is an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm. This means the firm represents the interests of the client, not those of an insurance company or bank, and can offer holistic financial advice, bespoke to each client, based on the whole panoply of available products and services.

FRM is also one of the Midlands’ largest administrators of small, self-administered schemes (SSAS) Schemes.

About Ssas

SSAS are the most flexible pension arrangement available. Costing no more than self-invested type arrangements, such as self-invested personal pensions (Sipps), SSAS can lend money back to the employing company when times get tough, giving Britain’s small business owners greater peace of mind.

Furthermore, the purchase of company premises using the SSAS can have significant take advantages as pension schemes generally do not have to pay tax. Owning one’s own property within a pension scheme can give the policy a much bigger income than the traditional route of cashing in the pension to buy an annuity.

My company has been dealing with Julian at FRM for about 25 years. He was asked to manage my pension fund for me. This is one of the best financial decisions I have made. Due to the returns Julian obtained for me I can now retire on a much better pension than I could have dreamed of.
